5 video game solutions now that Stadia is ending

Stadia has been with us for a long time, ever since November 19, 2019. It’s been working great, and providing high quality gaming to people with good internet connections, and no gaming PC’s. An email just went out to all Stadia customers and previous customeres alerting them that the last day for Stadia is January 18, 2023. Three whole years of streaming gaming. Sad to see it go. Let’s consider what our options are for replacing the place Stadia had in our lives.

  • GeForce Now
  • Shadow
  • Luna
  • PlayStation Plus
  • Xbox Cloud Gaming

GeForce Now

Brought to you by Nvidia. This service, which is similar to stadia, will let you sign up and use it for 1 hour for free, just to test it out. But if you want to play for 6 hours a month, that’ll cost you $10 bucks a month. 20 for 8 hours etc.

Shadow

For $30 dollars a month, you can have a similar experience to Stadia. But it doesn’t cover all states equally. California works, but Idaho doesn’t give top performance for instance.

Luna gaming

Amazon provides a service called Luna gaming, for $10 a month, you get access to a selection of games. Over 100, with some high quality AAA games in the mix. This is more of a direct replacement for Stadia.

Here’s a service that

PlayStation Plus

For $18 bucks a month, PlayStation plus can set you up with streaming, but it’s limited to PS5 PS4 and PC. This isn’t exactly a replacement for stadia, but it could give you a little relief.

Xbox Cloud Gaming

Xbox cloud gaming is similar, it provides games from game pass, it’s a more budget option. Coming in at $14 a month, and access to a lot of games.
